Is the South End of Sudbury really Sudbury's best neighbourhood?
The South End is what I like to call Sudbury's "boujee" neighbourhood, or the "Louis Vuitton" of Sudbury. This is because we have some upscale subdivisions here, with lots of newer builds and executive homes ranging anywhere from 700k to well over a million. With tons of lakes, including Ramsey Lake and Long Lake, beautiful waterfront homes are also extremely common in this area. But it's not just expensive homes here; the South End has tons of average, solid brick bungalows, which usually start around the 450k range. So why is this neighbourhood so popular?
The South End of Sudbury is considered one of our most family-friendly neighbourhoods, and has all the amenities you could ask for. You're only minutes away from restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, schools, and outdoor activities like hiking trails and beaches. You're also likely walking distance to parks, which makes it perfect for raising your family. Living in this neighbourhood likely means your commute time is fairly short as well, which is an extra bonus!
The South End is located just past Bell Park, continuing up Paris Street toward what we call the Four Corners; where Regent Street, Paris Street, and Long Lake Road meet. In this area, you will find Sudbury's most desirable subdivisions, including Moonglow, Robinson, Lo-Ellen and Algonquin. Our top schools (Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School, Lockerby Composite School, and R.L. Beattie Elementary) are also located here. So, if you have a bigger budget and are looking to move your family to one of Sudbury's best neighbourhoods, the South End might be for you!
